The Specialty Box in ancient Bog Oak combines traditional fine craftsmanship with a contemporary design.
The Speciality Box is an example of the interesting and unique commission Edward works on with clients to realise their dreams. It is collaboration between Edward, the client and Aryma Marquetry.
The piece was developed to celebrate the creation of a conservation garden in North West London, and some of the many species brought back into the area as it became established.
The box is made in Ancient 5300 year old Bog oak with elegant understated detailing on the outside. It is a quiet piece which draws you in with its subtle complexity.
The box has an opening lid, revealing a removable tray and two opening doors, revealing five drawers. The inside of the box is lined with English Walnut sunburst and Damson wood, with damson wood and Holly drawers.
Within the box are 7 unique marquetry panels, designed and created for the client by Aryma Marquetry. Each piece of marquetry shows some of the many and varied species which re-established themselves within the conservation garden.
Each panel has been expertly drawn, designed and created; it is an expression of the very finest marquetry available today
