The English Elm Jewellery Box

The Cherry wood, like many other fruitwoods including Pearwood, Apple wood and Damson wood has a slight sweet scent which can be smelt each time the box is opened. The Elm for this box was cut in the 1970s and has been carefully stored and dried since. The box has been French polished and finished with over 100 coats of hand applied polish, and a final coat of beeswax.
